Your personality matters in a voiceover casting.

Life as a voice-over talent is an eternal audition: every new project and client is a new challenge.

The client chooses you and thinks that you are the BEST possible option for his production, and there is a lot of money invested.

It is thrilling but also exhausting at times. You learn to NOT take critique as “something personal” and to understand that not every voice works well to deliver every message. There are slightly subtle factors that make a voice perfect for a commercial or completely “wrong” for what the brand is looking to communicate…

It might have to do with your natural speaking rhythm, the amount of air in your voice and your natural pitch being too high or too low…

Only when you UNDERSTAND what your strengths are, and what kind of projects suit your voice best, then you KNOW how to make the most out of it, and focus on what you are really good at.

And that is a lesson for life as well.
